I was ready to turn the TV off near the end of the 2nd, moment they got a goal felt more were coming soon. Glad I stuck around. Big Boost for the team rallying back from that one. |

the talk of the NHL is how awful the Lightning are now. The one thing this team and the 2015 team have in common is the ability to NEVER be out of a hockey game. There were plenty of 6-5, 4-3 games on the lightnings road to the cup final in 2015. I am not as worried as a lot of people are. And I still believe this team can win a hockey game 1-0. They've been looking ahead to the playoffs since the day they clinched. This team has always had a hard time getting up for games in the regular season since the trip to the cup finals. I believe 100% they are the best team in the NHL (clear bias) but I don't care. They have the most wins in the NHL and the least losses in the NHL. This is the best team, I cannot wait for the playoffs to begin. |

I think the Lightning just need to play a full game and stay in structure which I think they can do. They have to keep skating and impose their style, they can do it to any team they want if they are willing. I'm sure every team says this... lol.
If the team plays with intensity that is when you see what the Lightning are, question is are they ready to sustain that intensity night in and night out.
Our PK is horrible and my main concern going into the playoffs. |

Trade Stamkos, Kuch, Vasi, and Hedman.
Rebuild time!

i am not criticizing his skills or anything i just find he has lost about 10 steps in the past 2 years. rewatching high lights and stuff from the cup runs, although playoff killorn is a whole other animal that is true |

Killorn is an odd beast. Some games, he seems like a legit top-6 guy. Then he vanishes for long stretches and has almost zero production. To his credit, his dry spells didn't seem as long or frequent this season, but I still think his contract is not a good one.

Killorn has 42 points this year which is kind of crazy..
edit: and after nerding around a bit more on capfriendly its also clear that Callahan is the nhl's most overpaid forward and its not even close. |

Yeah, the Callahan contract is an albatross. I blame MSL. He tied Yzerman's hands. If not for that, we could have worked out a better deal with a different team. |

How can the Bolt's PK be this terrible?
And bleeding goals like this is no way to win in the playoffs.
If this doesn't change fast, look for an early first round exit upset.

This PK will kill them in the playoffs if they can't fix it for sure. It is legitimately horrible. I think the other big factor that can ruin this team in the playoffs is face offs... I bet they won less then 40% tonight. |

I expect it to improve at least a small measure once Palat gets his game back on track. But this PK is so bad, it's going to take 3 Palats to fix it.
I thought our D was supposed to improve with the addition of McD? (not a knock on McD, just an overall observation).

Boy, sure could use a more attentive blogger, one of the best teams in the league and we get every third game coverage. |

Doesn't matter. This team is a pretender and not a contender. They will get swept out in the first round if they keep playing the way they have been lately. Other teams have the Bolts break-outs and power play figured out.

I was there tonight, that was the most pathetic Lightning game I have seen in quite a while. My heart doesn't want to agree with you, but the defenseman in me does. Tough to watch the last 15 or so. Games, that is. |

Heyo!
Looks like we might be meeting for rd1! Should be pretty run and gun hockey!
Any of you know roughly what a single ticket for a playoff game in TB would run? |
